The BMC North Adams Satellite Emergency Facility (SEF) provides comprehensive emergency care, 24/7/365. On-site emergency diagnostic services include CT scanning, x-ray and laboratory testing.
Our emergency care is provided by skilled emergency medicine physicians, nurses and staff, and is a satellite operation of the main emergency department at Berkshire Medical Center.
Observation beds are available for patients who may need to be monitored for up to 24 hours, allowing emergency providers appropriate time for evaluation, testing and treatment before determining whether further treatment is required. Severely injured or ill patients are stabilized and transferred to BMC or other appropriate hospitals for more specialized care as needed.
The BMC SEF is licensed through BMC and the BMC Emergency Department by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
